1. About AWEF

This website is operated by African Women Empowerment Forum Charity (AWEF), a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1191388), at Unit 2, Victoria Court, Kent Street, Nottingham, NG1 3LZ.

2. Using this website

You may use this website for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes, including learning about AWEF, requesting support, joining, volunteering and donating. You must not:

• break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, accounts, servers or data;
• introduce malware, overload the service, scrape it in a harmful way or interfere with another person’s use;
• submit information that is knowingly false, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory or unlawful; or
• misrepresent your relationship with AWEF or use our name or identity to solicit funds without written permission.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect people, data, AWEF or the website.

3. Memberships, events and charitable services

Information on this website is general and does not replace medical, legal, immigration, financial or other professional advice. Eligibility, availability and delivery arrangements may differ between programmes. Registering an interest does not guarantee a place or a particular outcome.

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for telling us promptly about suspected unauthorised use. Additional prices, cancellation rules or service terms shown during a membership, event or other registration form part of these terms.

4. Donations and fundraising

Donations are gifts to support AWEF’s charitable purposes and do not normally purchase goods or services. Payments may be handled by PayPal, Give as You Live or another external provider, whose own terms and privacy notice also apply.

Please check the amount and any appeal restriction before confirming a donation. If you make an error, contact us promptly. Donations can only be returned where AWEF is legally permitted to do so. Where a fundraising appeal states how surplus or insufficient funds will be used, those stated terms apply.

Nothing on this website is an offer of financial or tax advice. You are responsible for confirming whether any tax relief, including Gift Aid, applies to you.

5. Our content and information you submit

Unless stated otherwise, AWEF owns or is licensed to use the website’s text, branding, graphics, photographs and other content. You may view, download or print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not remove credits or change the meaning. Other copying, publication or commercial use requires prior written permission.

You retain ownership of information and material you submit. You give AWEF permission to use it only as reasonably needed to respond, provide a requested service, administer our work and meet legal obligations. We will not publish an identifiable story, photograph or testimonial for publicity without an appropriate permission or other lawful basis.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not mean AWEF controls or endorses everything on those sites. External services are responsible for their own content, availability, security and handling of personal information. Check their terms before using them.
